Expert tutoring by an experienced English tutor
With over 30 years of experience in secondary education across the Bath and Bristol areas, I’ve had the pleasure of working in a range of roles, including Head of English and Head of Year. Throughout my career, I’ve taught English at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, gaining a deep understanding of the curriculum and how best to support students at each stage.
Since September 2021, I’ve focused exclusively on tutoring individuals and small groups, a role I find both rewarding and enjoyable. Working closely with students allows me to tailor lessons to their specific goals and learning styles. I believe strongly in creating a positive, supportive environment where students feel confident, encouraged, and motivated to achieve their best.

How can i help?
My Approach
As a tutor, I plan and deliver bespoke English lessons that are tailored to the needs of each student. I aim to help students to develop their skills and reach their targets. I take a positive and encouraging approach so that students feel confident as they work towards their examinations.
Lessons can be in person or online. For online lessons, I use Zoom Workplace which allows sharing and annotation of documents. All lesson notes are saved on a PDF so that they can be reviewed by students.
